Court frames charges against R K Sharma

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Monday framed charges against senior IPS officer R K Sharma and five others in connection with the murder of journalist Shivani Bhatnagar.
Holding that the accused had conspired to murder Shivani as she had threatened to spoil R K Sharma''s life and career after developing physical intimacy with her, Additional Sessions Judge J M Malik charged the six accused under section 120 (b) (conspiracy) read with section 302 (murder), 201, 403 and 404 of the Indian Penal Code.
The court also charged Pradeep Sharma under section 404 of the IPC for dishonestly misappropriating the gold chain worn by Shivani and under section 419 for entering her flat by impersonating as one Rajeev Bhatnagar.
All the accused pleaded not guilty and claimed trial.
The court also fixed March 20 for commencement of prosecution evidence.
