Centre, LG responsible for 'rising crime' in Delhi: AAP minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on doctor's murder
Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj blamed the Central government and LG for rising crime after a doctor was fatally shot inside a hospital. He highlighted increasing gangster activity and extortion demands in the city.
NEW DELHI: Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj expressed his concerns over the recent murder of a doctor inside a hospital. He criticized the Central government and Delhi LG V.K. Saxena’s administration for failing to control crime in the city. Bharadwaj posted on social media, "Delhi has become crime capital--gangsters operating with ease, extortion calls and firings, and daily murders. Central Govt. & @LtGovDelhi have failed in their basic work for Delhi."
Thursday's incident occurred at Nima Hospital, Jaitpur, under the Kalindi Kunj PS area, where two teenagers reportedly shot the doctor after entering his cabin. Delhi police are examining CCTV footage and conducting a search operation to find the culprits.Hospital staff informed that the two teens initially came for treatment of an injury and later demanded to meet the doctor, who they then shot dead.Bharadwaj had previously highlighted the increasing crime and gangster activities in Delhi. On October 2, he posted about a gym owner being shot dead and multiple instances of extortion threats within 24 hours, mentioning that even AAP MLAs Sanjiv Jha and Ajay Dutt had received such threats.
He noted, "Gangsters' dominance increased inside Delhi. 15 days ago, a gym owner of Greater Kailash was shot dead. In 24 hours, bullets were fired at three major places, and everyone had received calls for extortion."Delhi MLAs have also written to the LG expressing their concerns about rising gangster-related extortion incidents and have requested an urgent meeting.
