New Delhi: BJP on Saturday announced a 12-member manifesto committee headed by south Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri to prepare a vision document and spell out the poll promises for Delhi ahead of crucial assembly polls, which are due in less than three months.
Several senior party functionaries from Delhi, including former central ministers Harsh Vardhan, Vijay Goel, and Meenakshi Lekhi, former Delhi minister Arvinder Singh Lovely, apart from ex-MP Parvesh Verma, Satish Upadhyay, MLA Ajay Mahawar, and spokesperson Praveen Shakar Kapoor, have been included in the committee.
Bidhuri said the committee members will hold discussions with the representatives of various communities and pressure groups and collect feedback from the general public to prepare the manifesto. He alleged that basic facilities such as roads, drains, drinking water, and civic infrastructure collapsed under AAP govt in Delhi in the last 10 years while the city turned into a slum.
"Our manifesto will explain how a turnaround will be there if BJP is elected in the upcoming polls and given a chance to provide able governance to the city. The manifesto document will also script how BJP will fulfil the aspirations and needs of Delhi people that were neglected and betrayed by the incumbent govt," Bidhuri said, adding that comprehensive public feedback would be obtained through online and offline methods before drafting the manifesto.
