15-year-old student stabbed to death over dispute with his younger brother in NE Delhi
New Delhi: A 15-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death in Usmanpur area of northeast Delhi on Saturday night, with police later apprehending the main suspect, also a minor, in connection with the case.
The deceased boy was a Class X student.
According to police, information regarding the incident was received at New Usmanpur police station around 10 pm from Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where the injured teenager had been brought by his family members. However, doctors declared him dead.
A case was registered under section 103 (murder) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and an investigation was taken up.
During the investigation, the forensic team inspected the scene of the crime and collected relevant evidence. The body of the deceased was later sent for post-mortem examination.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that a dispute had broken out hours before the murder between the victim’s younger brother and another youth in the area. Police said the teenager had intervened in an attempt to resolve the altercation. Investigators suspect that the earlier confrontation escalated later in the evening, eventually leading to the fatal stabbing.
During the course of the investigation, police identified and apprehended a 17-year-old boy allegedly involved in the attack. The knife used in the commission of the crime has been seized, and cops are currently questioning the accused to ascertain the exact sequence of events and to determine whether any other individuals were involved in the crime.
