Announcing this in the assembly on Tuesday,

minister for registration K C Veeramani

said that the Aadhaar linked e-sign would be introduced as part of modernisation of the existing system.

According to registration department sources, people seeking encumbrance certificates and certified copies are provided with QR enabled copy, which contains the digital signatures of respective sub registrars. The digital signatures available in pen drives can be used any official, who can access the password. In a bid to protect the digital signature, an official said, the sub registrar must place the thumb impression on biometric system linked with Aadhaar. "The Unique Identification Authority of India enabled system will automatically recognise Aadhaar number of the sub registrar and his digital signature would be encrypted in the certificates automatically," the official added.
