Power cut, low voltage haunt Thiruvanmiyur
CHENNAI: Residents in Thiruvanmiyur are facing the heat due to power cuts and low voltage.
The power supply has been erratic since Thursday, they said. “On Thursday, we had no power at night, while supply was erratic on Friday morning and night. It was completely cut off on Saturday afternoon and was restored briefly in the evening, before it stopped till late night.

On Saturday alone, there was no power for almost 5 hours,” R Vardhini, a resident of Kalakshetra Road, said.
Tangedco officials said there were issues with a transformer in Kottivakkam, which was the cause of the erratic supply. “We hope to set right the problem by Monday or Tuesday. Then, we should not witness issues on either supply or quality,” an official said.
Residents also complained that voltage fluctuations and low voltage problems were more pronounced in peak summer, when most use air conditioners, thereby drawing more power from an already power-sstarved grid.
