Man dies of cardiac arrest at Chennai airport while waiting to board flight to Germany

CHENNAI: A 73-year-old retired Tangedco official suffered a cardiac arrest and died at Chennai airport on Tuesday. He was at the airport with his wife to board a flight to Frankfurt, Germany to meet their children.

Police said Sivaraman of Kodambakkam and his wife went to the airport late on Monday night. They checked their baggage in and underwent immigration check as well.

While waiting to board the flight, he fell unconscious. She informed airport staff, who, alerted the airport police. A medical team at the airport confirmed that Sivaraman was dead. His body was sent to the govt general hospital in Chromepet for autopsy.
