Gurjeet Singh on Saturday tried to dent Khaira’s support base in the latter’s home turf Bholath by making several of his supporters join Congress.

Welcoming AAP volunteers into Congress, Rana made scathing attacks against party leaders, terming them as a bunch of ‘opportunists and turncoats’, who could be never loyal to the people of Punjab. “AAP and its leaders neither have any ideology nor they have any commitment to the people of the state. They dreamt of ruling the state by showing green pastures to people but were shown the door by voters of Punjab, who voted for the Congress in the assembly polls,” he said, adding that fugitives from other parties had joined hands with AAP to satiate their lust for power but people gave them a befitting lesson.

Stating that AAP would collapse like a pack of cards, Rana Gurjeet asked the NRIs to spend their money on the development of their native villages through active support and cooperation of Punjab government rather than funding opportunists of AAP.
