CHANDIGARH: In a first-of-its-kind protest, the farmers on Saturday created the
tractor chain between Gohana and Sonipat
to pay homage to Sant Ravi Dass and Chander Shekhar Azad and to press their demands against the three farm laws.
The protest was organized by Kisan Mazdoor
Sangharsh Samiti
(KMSS) along with Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM). The day-long agitation passed on peacefully and the tractors were removed without causing any kind of inconvenience to other cars on the road.
Master Ishwar Dahiya, who led the agitation said that instead of moving from one place to another, the residents of villages enroute Sonipat and
Gohana
came out of their villages and parked the tractor trolleys on the road side near their village bus stops on the main road.
"This coincided with the birth of two great personalities —Chander Shekhar Azad, who sacrificed his life for freedom, and Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidass, who always worked for the welfare of human kind from all sections of the society. The agitation will continue till the government withdraws the three farm laws and bill regarding electricity and bring a special bill to guarantee MSP to the farmers," said Dahiya.
Similarly, special programs were organized at
Shahjahanpur
Kherha borders of Haryana and Rajsthan where farmers are camping. Former MLA Comrade Amra Ram led the agitation there.
