Chandigarh: The Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA) of the Chandigarh administration Monday concluded the online auction of fancy, choice and special registration numbers of the new vehicle series CH-01-DE, generating Rs 4.13 crore in revenue.
A total of 683 registration numbers were auctioned, including a few unsold numbers from previous series that were offered along with the new lot.
The number CH-01-DE-0003 fetched the highest bid at Rs 37.63 lakh, followed by CH-01-DE-0001 at Rs 23.55 lakh. The number CH-01-DE-0009 secured the third-highest bid at Rs 12.30 lakh.
Officials said the authority will complete the formalities, including payment verification and approvals, before allotting the numbers to successful bidders. The remaining numbers of the series will subsequently be opened for public registration.
Each Chandigarh vehicle series carries 9,999 numbers, of which only select fancy and choice numbers are auctioned, while the rest are allotted routinely.
In the previous auction of the CH-01-DD series held in March, the RLA had earned Rs 4.48 crore.
