Charuni files nomination from Pehowa, says all political parties want farmers not to come forward to lead

PEHOWA: Farm leader Gurnam Singh Charuni filed his nomination papers to contest state assembly elections as candidate of Sanyukt Sangharsh Party from Pehowa constituency in Kurukshetra district on Tuesday.

Before filing papers, Charuni under the banner of his party held a public gathering in the grain market and also carried out a roadshow.

Addressing the gathering, Charuni said, “All political parties from small to big want farmers and those who speak against the government should not come forward to lead. It is in your hand to see who should be your leader as the vote is in your hand.”

“I have been struggling for your rights for the last 32 years, tell me if I demanded anything from you in these years. But for the upcoming elections, we have decided to contest and I am seeking your support to elect me from Pehowa”, said Charuni while seeking support from the public.

Charuni asked his supporters to give him 24 days of their time for election campaigning, to bring change in the country, society and teach the political parties a lesson.
