BHUBANESWAR: The railways is planning to provide high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity at major railway stations, including Bhubaneswar, Puri and Visakhapatnam, under the East Coast Railway (ECoR).
The infrastructure for providing the facility at 28 stations will be ready this financial year, official sources said, adding, 20 among them are in Odisha.
There are three categories (A1, A and B) of railway stations under the ECoR.

Of these 28, three come under A1, 10 belong to A and 15 to B category.
Chief public relation officer, ECoR, Jyoti Prakash Mishra said the work at Bhubaneswar railway station will be completed by January 2016.
General manager (ECoR) Rajiv Vishnoi had recently conducted a mid-term review of the works here.
Cuttack, Sambalpur, Bhadrak, Rayagada, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road and Khurda Road will be among the major stations to provide Wi-Fi services to the passengers.
"This facility will help the passengers access internet while waiting at the platforms. It is a good initiative," said Jyoti Ranjan Das, a passenger.
Central PSU RailTel and internet major Google are implementing the project, the sources added.
