Koraput: The Rayagada district administration on Sunday launched a special outreach initiative in the remote Niyamgiri hills to ensure that members of the Dongria Kondh, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG), are included in the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Acting on the directions of Rayagada district collector Ashutosh Kulkarni and under the supervision of electoral registration officer (ERO) for the 139-Bissam Cuttack (ST) Assembly constituency, additional district magistrate (general) Naveen Chandra Nayak and other officials undertook a special drive to distribute enumeration forms among eligible voters residing in the inaccessible tribal settlements of Niyamgiri.Officials said during the visit, forms were distributed among eligible voters and awareness was created about the ongoing voter list revision exercise. Officials also interacted with villagers and explained the importance of participating in the electoral process.
