CM Majhi to present budget today

Bhubaneswar: CM Mohan Charan Majhi, who holds the finance portfolio, will present the budget for 2025-26 in the state assembly on Monday afternoon. Last year, Majhi presented a Rs 2.65 lakh crore budget for the 2024-25 fiscal. This time, the figure may touch Rs 3 lakh crore, sources said.It is expected that the govt will allocate funds for its flagship programmes like Subhadra Yojana, the integrated health assurance/insurance scheme, Samruddha Krushak Yojana, Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Prathamik Vidyalaya scheme, and others.The agriculture sector will be given the most priority in the budget, followed by health and education. As the govt has already announced several infrastructure and communication development projects, it may allocate more funds for them, sources said. State govt had sought suggestions from the public on budget preparation.TNN
