20L women to get Subhadra aid on Feb 8: Parida

Bhubaneswar: State govt will disburse the fourth phase of the first instalment of Subhadra Yojana on Feb 8, deputy chief minister Pravati Parida said here on Sunday. She urged all eligible beneficiaries who have not received the first instalment of Rs 5,000 to visit banks and resolve discrepancies.
"Over 20 lakh women are likely to get the first instalment in the fourth phase, taking the total number of women who have got Subhadra aid to over 1 crore," she said.
"There is a delay in the disbursement of the first instalment in the fourth phase because we want all the beneficiaries to receive the Subhadra money. Therefore, we urge all beneficiaries to get their issues sorted by Feb 4, so that they can receive the money," Parida said. The financial assistance will be disbursed at a special function in Jajpur.
"Subhadra beneficiaries have been given two dates — Feb 3 and 4 — to visit their banks and check NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) clearances ahead of the release of the money. Apart from this, beneficiaries have also been asked to complete their e-KYC formalities so that they receive the financial assistance on Feb 8," Parida added.
Sources said several beneficiaries are facing issues in receiving aid under the Subhadra scheme due to NPCI issues. "As many as 3 lakh beneficiaries are facing NPCI failure, due to which they are not able to get the Subhadra money. The issues were resolved for about 25% of beneficiaries, and the rest of them need to clear them by Feb 4," Parida said. A majority of pending cases are of SBI account holders and they must visit the bank branches to activate their accounts with NPCI. Many are yet to complete their e-KYC, and their accounts need to be linked with their Aadhaar card and biometrics, sources said.
Sources said over 1 crore beneficiaries have been registered under Subhadra scheme so far, of whom over 80 lakh have received the first instalment of Rs 5,000. With the last phase of disbursement on Feb 8, the number of beneficiaries will cross 1 crore.
