BHOPAL: A youth was killed in Chhindwara district over a petty dispute involving placing a hand on the shoulder a man.
The incident occurred in the Jamuniya locality under the Singori police outpost late on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Mohit Uike, 19. Besides Mohit, another youth, Narendra Uike, 23, sustained severe injuries and was referred to Nagpur for treatment.
Singori police outpost incharge, Pankaj Rai, said, “Prima facie, it has surfaced that two groups of youth were present, and the deceased kept his hand on the shoulder of one of the accused, which led to a dispute.
However, they settled their disputes initially. But after half an hour, the deceased spoke with one of the main accused over the phone, and a group arrived again, leading to the dispute and the death of Mohit Uike.
The condition of the injured is out of danger now.”
“We have rounded up five accused, including two main accused who were named.
Primary information suggests that a petty dispute led to the incident, but things will be clear once the detailed probe is over,” Rai said.
