Sagar students bag all three top ranks in class 10 MP board results
Bhopal: Sagar district students, Ayushman Tamrakar of Government School and Gagan Dixit of Saraswati Shishu Mandir, secured top position in the merit list of the class 10 MP board results that were declared on Wednesday. Ayushman and Gagan scored 499 marks out of 500, aggregating 99.8 per cent. Deependra Kumar has scored 497 out of 500, aggregating 99.4% and securing second position in the state.
However, this year, the pass percentage in the class X result has gone down by 5.22%. This year, 61.32% students were declared passed as against 66.54% students last year. Expressing concern over the poor pass percentage, chief secretary SR Mohanty, ex-chairman of MPBSE, has blamed the NCERT for the decline in result. “We will study as to why the result has come down as compared to that of last year," he said. He added that making NCERT books compulsory might be one of the reasons for this.
This year, 144 students have secured place in the top ten merit list. All three top ranks were bagged by students from Sagar district. Incidentally, last year, there were 180 students in the top ten merit list.
The third position in the state went to six students scoring 496 out of 500 and aggregating 99.2 per cent. They are Mahima Namdeo (Sagar), Harsh Kumar (Sagar), Khushboo Chaube (Damoh), Priyanshu Jain (Mandsaur), Rajkumar Soni (Agar Malwa) and Sakshi Patel (Burhanpur). Six out of 10 students who secured place in the top ranks in the state are from Saraswati Shishu Mandir.
This year, 8,66,725 regular students appeared for the exam. Of this, results of 8,64,753 students were declared. In all, 5,30,272 regular students were declared passed. The board has withheld results of 515 students.
In all, 3,35,738 students secured first division while 1,92,083 secured second division. However, girls have done better than boys in the pass percentage. Among regular students, 63.69% girls were declared passed as against 59.15% boys.
MPBSE also declared results of physically challenged students. In this category, 85.33% students were declared passed, which included 84.70% boys while 85.33% girls.
