'Stabbed, robbed at 4am': Night shift turns out to be nightmare for food delivery boys
JABALPUR/BHOPAL: Night shift turned out to be a nightmare for two 20-year-old food delivery boys in two separate incidents in Jabalpur and Bhopal. While the Jabalpur police are searching the accused, the Bhopal cops nabbed the accused with the help of locals and recovered the looted mobile phone.
In Jabalpur, a 20-year-old food delivery boy Shailesh Noriya was stabbed and robbed by three youths near Anwarganj Tiraha when he was returning after delivering an order during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
In his complaint to Hanumantal police, Noriya, a resident near Madar Tekri Gate, said that he had gone to the Kotwali area to deliver a food parcel and was returning on his motorcycle in the wee hours when three youths intercepted him near Anwarganj Tiraha.
Police said one of the accused, identified as Shivam alias Shubham Sonkar of Khai Mohalla in Hanumantal, allegedly stopped the motorcycle and removed its key. When the delivery boy resisted, the accused allegedly snatched Rs 800 in cash and his wallet containing an Aadhaar card and other documents.
During the incident, another accused, identified as Deoraj, allegedly attacked the victim with a knife, injuring him on the left thigh, while a third youth, known as Pilla, assaulted him with punches and kicks. The accused fled after the victim’s friend Sitaram reached the spot.
