MP’s Kanya wins fourth medal in CBSE national championship

Bhopal: MP’s Kanya Nayyar continued her splendid performance by winning her fourth medal on the penultimate day of CBSE national swimming championship at Prakash Taran Pushkar. Teams of Central Zone and UAE won 8 gold medals each. This year, Gyan Ganga International School is hosting the CBSE national swimming championship. In the under-17 girls’ 200m medley, Shakthi Balkrishnan of UAE won gold medal by clocking 2:33.22, while Indore girl Kanya Nayyar grabbed silver. She clocked 2:35.88 to complete the distance. Bronze medal went to Catharine of UAE who took 2:36.71 in completing the event. Nayyar has won a gold and three silver medals so far in the championship. In the boys’ under-17 medley event, Phukan Bhargav of Central Zone won gold medal while Anish S Gauda of South Zone-II won silver medal, while S Hiten came third to win the bronze medal. In the under-11 boys’ 50m freestyle category, Arnav Tyagi of North Zone-II won gold medal while Yuvraj Singh of Central Zone grabbed silver medal. Abdul Hakeem of Central Zone-II won bronze medal. Principal, Gyan Ganga, D Ashok said prize distribution ceremony will be orgnaised on Saturday after final events. PWD minister Sajjan Singh Verma will be the chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony.
