JABALPUR: A second candidate at the police recruitment exams has died after collapsing during physical tests in Jabalpur, prompting the state government to postpone the exam.

Physical test postponed till June 2, says health minister
On Wednesday, Narendra Kumar Goutam, a candidate from Seoni, also collapsed after the 800m run, struggling to breathe.

He was taken to three hospitals but eventually succumbed.

Taking a serious note of the two deaths, state home minister Narottam Mishra announced that the physical test for police recruitment will be postponed till June 2, given the scorching heat.

More than 30,000 candidates are vying for 6,000 constable posts.

Tests scheduled between June 3 and June 5 will continue and candidates will be informed about their turn for the physical test in advance.
