BHOPAL: A 12-year-old boy was injured after being attacked by a dog in Nishatpura on Thursday evening. Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the boy from the dog. They rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Later, the injured boy's father approached Nishatpura police station and lodged a complaint against the dog owner.

Siddharth Yadav (41), a resident of Sanjeev Nagar in Nishatpura, works at the Airport Authority of India.
He stated in his complaint that on Thursday around 5.3 0pm his son Shaurya Yadav (12), a student of Class 5, was going to attend coaching classes on his bicycle. When he reached in front of the house of Preetam Singh Yadav, a retired Army officer and a neighbour, was standing with his pet dog. His dog chased Shaurya and attacked him.
Narayan said that the dog bit Shaurya on his hips. When locals spotted the dog attacking the minor boy, they rushed to save him and rescued him. They took Shaurya to hospital for treatment. Later victim's father approached Nishatpura police station to lodge a complaint against the dog owner.
Acting on the complaint, police have registered a case under section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) of IPC against Preetam and started investigations.
Recently, a one-and-a-half-year-old boy was attacked by a neighbour's dog in TT Nagar locality. The dog attacked on the right cheek of the child and he sustained a deep wound. The minor was admitted to a hospital.
