“We’ve been friends since LKG. We’ve visited Lalbagh and its flower shows many times. I can never forget the musical instruments made with flowers some time ago,” recalls Chaithra.

Varsha told STOI: “Along with the flowers, I liked the Mehendi art near the Kempegowda Tower.” The girls, who have just completed their II PUC from Mount Carmel College, wandered around appreciating the beauty of flowers.
The major attraction was the 22-foot Baha’i temple made up of 85,000 creamy white roses, gerbera tuberoses and carnations. “Design-wise, it’s not the same as the Baha’i temple in New Delhi but it looks very rich. The original structure has three petals whereas this has many. I’d have missed something had I not visited this show,” said entrepreneur Kapila Kumari HJ.
For many like Jitendra Agarwal, this show was a lot better than last year’s which had a model of a Metro rail made of red roses. Camera-wielding visitors tried to capture the flowers in all their glory, and made sure their friends and relatives were framed just right.
Strict security checks have been introduced this year in the wake of recent terror attacks. The show will be open from 9am to 7pm till August 15.
