engg classes begin before seats are selected anupama g.s. bangalore: even before seat selection for engineering courses is over (the special admission round for engineering courses will end on october 16), first semester engineering classes have already begun in most of the engineering colleges. this has certainly inconvenienced students who are seeking fresh seats in the special admission round.
such students, who have gone in for a fresh seat or a course, are find it difficult to cope with the syllabus since they would have missed the first few months of college. "by the time i start attending college, the syllabus would have started. i will miss quite a few theory and practical classes," rued rashmi, one of the many students who have sought a fresh seat in the special admission round. it is a long-felt demand of students and colleges that the education department and the visvesvaraiah technological university formulate a calendar of events for engineering colleges. the calendar of events should specify each year when classes will begin, based on the seat-selection schedule.
