Pilibhit: District administration on Saturday took full possession of the Samajwadi Party's Pilibhit office, located on municipal council property, with city magistrate Vijay Vardhan Tomar, SDM Shraddha Singh and CO Deepak Chaturvedi supervising the action. A heavy police force was deployed, and three locks installed by party workers were broken. Furniture, an air conditioner, an inverter, batteries and other office articles were seized by municipal officials.
The office was rented to the party in 2005 for Rs115 per month for 15 years. After the lease expired in 2020, the allotment was cancelled and multiple notices were issued, but no interim court relief was granted.
District SP president Jagdev Singh Jagga termed the action illegal, citing the case's pendency before the civil judge in Pilibhit with the next hearing on Dec 4. He alleged theft of party property and urged the ADM to file an FIR against officials involved.
