Bareilly: Brief tension prevailed in Naroli town of Sambhal district after meat remnants were found inside a temple, but police later said the pieces had been dropped by a bird and ruled out any deliberate act.The incident was reported from a nearly 50-year-old Shiv temple in Teliwala Mohalla under the Baniyatheer police station limits in Chandausi tehsil, on Tuesday. Police said meat remnants were found near a water tap and inside the temple premises around 8 am, following which they were alerted.A police team from the Naroli outpost examined CCTV footage from cameras installed across the Naroli Nagar Panchayat and questioned local residents. Meanwhile, activists of the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal reached the spot, raised slogans alleging a conspiracy and submitted a written complaint seeking a thorough probe.After nearly five hours of investigation, police concluded around 5 pm that a bird flying over the temple had dropped the meat inside the premises. The situation subsequently returned to normal.Baniyatheer SHO Manoj Kumar Verma said CCTV footage clearly showed a bird dropping the meat and there was no evidence of any intentional act. Police said the area remains peaceful and no case has been registered.
