Azam Khan constituency loses three seats of Samajwadi Party in zilla panchayat elections
Rampur: Out of four candidates backed by Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan in Rampur Vidhan Sabha constituency, three have lost the zila panchayat polls while three BJP-supported candidates managed to register a win.
BJP backed candidates Chatrpal Yadav, Sonu Lodhi and Munaish emerged as winners for ward numbers 21, 22 and 23. In ward number 19, local SP leader, Saleem Kasim’s wife, Asmeen, won the seat from the BSP-supported candidate and local advocate, Abul Hasan.

BJP leader and MoS Muqtar Abbas Naqvi had also addressed all the 32 candidates of BJP during the zila panchayat elections but the party only managed to get five seats.
In Rampur, SP become the single largest party after winning the 13 seats. BJP won five and BSP managed to get one seat. The rest went to the independent candidates.
