13 children electrocuted during chariot procession at Kurnool district

TIRUPATI: About 13 children suffered minor injuries due to electrocution, during a chariot procession held at Chinna Tekuru village in Kallur mandal of Kurnool district on Thursday.

According to Ulindikonda police, children from neighbouring localities mounted the chariot, whose procession was carried out in connection with the Ugadi celebrations at Chinna Tekuru village at around 7 am on Thursday.

As the procession began, the chariot came in contact with high tension cables and the children on the chariot suffered shocks and fell off from the chariot.

Locals who noticed the incident, immediately rushed all the 13 injured children to the govt general hospital at Kurnool. Doctors administered first aid to the injured and told reporters that the injuries were minor and not fatal.
