Kashi Tamil Sangamam: Tamil guests welcomed in Prayagraj, visit Sangam

Prayagraj: The first batch of around 200 members of the ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam' arrived in Prayagraj on Thursday. They were was given a grand welcome by mayor Umesh Kesarwani and city magistrate Vinod Kumar Singh with tilak and garlands here. Students from Jagat Taran Girls' Inter College performed a welcome song followed by bhajans by Shivank Dwivedi and his team members. The members of the delegation were presented with Ganga jal. The mayor facilitated the team leader with a memento.The Regional Archives and the State Manuscript Library also organised an exhibition of records and manuscripts, with exhibits of ancient texts on paper and palm leaves being a special attraction. Kesarwani, while congratulating the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that today, the confluence of North and South is being witnessed on this sacred Sangam bank.PM Modi has worked to identify ways to create a harmonious, equal, loving, and patriotic society and the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam Yatra is a part of it, said mayor. He said that the Kashi Tamil Sangamam Yatra will not only connect North and South but will also work to eradicate caste, language, and regionalism in the country.The Tamil delegation visited the Sangam from VIP Ghat in decorated boats, where they took holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati. They were informed about the significance of the holy city of Prayagraj. The delegation members were mesmerised by the stunning and captivating view of the Sangam area. They also viewed the sand art created at VIP Ghat in the Sangam area. Later, they visited the Hanuman Temple, Shankar Viman Mandapam Temple and the Swami Narayan Temple to offer prayers.
