Drug peddler racket busted, ganja worth Rs 25L seized, 2 held

Times News NetworkPrayagraj: Special operation group (SOG) team and Handia police on Saturday busted an inter-state drug peddling racket.Two drug peddlers, Ranjodh Singh (37) and Shubham Kumar (29), residents of Gurdaspur (Punjab), were arrested near Bhiti market flyover road. The cops also seized 102.5 kg ganja worth Rs 25 lakhs, one truck and a mobile from their possession. The drug consignment, brought from Odisha, was to be delivered in Bhadohi.The arrested drug peddlers told police that they started from Odisha about six days back and an unknown man had asked them to deliver the consignment in Varanasi. When they reached Varanasi, another unknown man asked them to move to Bhadohi but cops arrested them near Bhiti while they were waiting for the middleman.
