Directives to attend to SRN hosp patients personally, resolve issues
Prayagraj: During inspection of arrangements at the SRN hospital’s reception, registration counter, various OPDs and the hospital premises on Tuesday, MLN Medical college principal, Dr A K Verma interacted with patients and their relatives to understand their grievances and solicited suggestions regarding improvements in existing arrangements.
Dr Verma inspected the registration counter and inquired about timings to generate registration slips, reasons behind unnecessary overcrowding or inconvenience and what measures and improvements could be implemented to further streamline the process. He directed the officials concerned to ensure that registration slips are issued to patients in shortest possible time and that priority assistance is extended to the elderly, women and critically ill patients.
Dr Verma toured various OPDs and took stock of the attendance of doctors and healthcare staff. While interacting with patients and their relatives waiting outside the OPDs, he gathered information regarding facilities at the hospital, difficulties faced in obtaining medical consultations and other issues. Patients from distant districts voiced their concerns and directives were issued accordingly to officials concerned to resolve the issues.
Dr Verma said understanding patients’ problems and ensuring their prompt and effective resolution should be the hospital administration’s top priority and instructed officials to maintain regular dialogue with patients and their relatives and to address their complaints and suggestions in absolute seriousness.
As part of the inspection, exit gate located near the main entrance of Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital—which was closed for a long time—was also reviewed. Keeping in mind need for smooth movement of patients and ambulances, the exit gate has been reopened for operation starting from Tuesday. Hospital administration said availability of separate routes for entry and exit is expected to alleviate issues of overcrowding and traffic congestion at main gate, while also providing relief to ambulances arriving for emergency services.
