₹12L fine realised in rly ticket checking drive

Prayagraj: Authorities of Prayagraj division of North Central Railways (NCR) conducted an intensive ticket checking drive on Friday. The drive, which started at 6 am, continued for more than 12 hours. An amount of over Rs 12 lakhs was collected as fine. According to public relation officer of Prayagraj division, Amit Singh, the drive was conducted under the direction of senior divisional commercial manager Shashibhushan and senior divisional commercial manager (II) Himanshu Shukla of the division. The ticket checking drive was conducted at all the stations of Prayagraj division through more than 100 ticket checking personnel along with 19 Railway Protection Force personnel and 16 of Government Railway Protection (GRP) personnel. A total of 2,187 passengers including those traveling without tickets, irregular travel, smokers, litterers, illegal vendors and unbooked luggage were caught during the drive. An amount of Rs 12,50,165 was realised as fine. During the inspection, the waiting room etc. premises of the railway station were also thoroughly checked, apart from this, all the passenger trains passing through the station with disabilities, ladies coach, RMS coach and pantry car were also checked, he added. tnn
