Truck driver found murdered in field near Gandhinagar railway crossing
Ahmedabad: A 36-year-old truck driver was found murdered in a field near a railway crossing in Radhja village in Pethapur in Gandhinagar on Thursday evening.
A complaint was filed by the victim’s cousin, Rahul Thakor, a private company employee residing in Radhja village of Gandhinagar district.
According to the complaint, the deceased, identified as Magan Thakor, worked as the driver of an Eicher truck and is survived by his wife and three children. He left home around 8am on Wednesday carrying his tiffin.
The incident came to light at 6.30pm when a relative informed the complainant over the phone that Magan was lying dead in a field owned by a local farmer near the railway crossing on the outskirts of the village.
The complainant rushed to the spot after leaving work and found a crowd gathered near the field. On reaching the location, he found Magan lying on the ground. According to the complaint, blood was visible around the victim’s mouth, while a dark injury mark was noticed on the left side of his neck. His slippers and tiffin box were found lying nearby.
