Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of development projects valued at Rs 18,777 crore on June 5, during his visit to Surat and Daman. The state govt said on Wednesday that the projects include those of the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)
State govt sources said the PM will address a rally at Surat during his visit to the state.
An official statement said that GIDC projects in Bharuch, Valsad, and other districts will be unveiled during the PM’s visit. These include effluent pipeline projects, and road, stormwater and drainage projects in the Dahej Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemical Investment Region (PCPIR), bulk drug park at Jambusar, and projects at the Sarigam industrial estate in Valsad district.
An official statement said that the PM will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of NHAI projects in the state. These include the inauguration of sections of the Vadodara-Mumbai expressway, the laying of the foundation stone for the four-laning of the Dhamasia-Bitada and Nasarpore-Malotha sections, and the laying of the foundation stone for a six-lane underpass at Hazira.
The state govt, meanwhile, said that several events have been organized across the state to mark the completion of 12 years of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister. An official statement said that eminent personalities will speak at the events on the theme —`Twelve Years of Trust, Development, and Public Welfare’. A special drive will be undertaken through the month to promote central and state govt schemes in all districts.
