Ahmedabad: Murder case shifted from Aslali

AHMEDABAD: Three months after detection of a gruesome murder, Aslali cops have realized that the jurisdiction of the case belongs to Gomtipur police as the murder had been committed in Gomtipur and the victim’s body parts left in Aslali. On Saturday, they shifted the case to Gomptipur police station. Inspector Sahil Tandel of Gomtipur police said they will be applying for police custody of the accused. “We still have to recover the severed head of the victim,” he added.


The murder had taken place in Ghatlodia on November 2, 2019. The body parts of the victim were packed in a gunny bag and dumped in Aslali.

Police arrested Mohammad Matlub Shaikh, 37, for killing his friend and business partner, Shakir Shaikh, 40, in a week.
