Explosives found in Juhapura

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">AHMEDABAD: Raw materials for crude bomb-production along with some weapons have been seized by the Vejalpur police during a search operation at Juhapura.<br />Late on Friday, a police team had gone into the Sahebaz Park housing complex behind the Yash Complex. The now-empty Yash Complex, which used to be a small shopping plaza, has been a scene of many a communal clash.This complex is on the road that bisects Hindu and Muslim settlements.<br />The police team had gone into this housing complex in search of one Aman Khan alias Aman Mustufakhan Pathan who is accused of being a riot perpetrator. Pathan is charged with being part of a mob that attacked the police and residents with sharp-edged weapons and illegal arms on March 15.<br />On reaching Pathan''s house in Sahebaz Park police found it locked. "We could look into the premises of the house over a low boundary wall," said a police officer at Vejalpur.<br />The police seized 300 gm of gunpowder, bomb-wicks, nails, pieces of metal, bottles and small tin boxes. A sword, an axe and a large knife were the other seizures. The police have also filed a case.<br />That was, however, not the only recovery of the city police. Rakhiyal police at around 11 am on Saturday recovered 18 <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">sutli</span> (crude) bombs. A watchman of Soma Textile Mills at Rakhiyal chanced upon this bag full of crude bombs inside the factory. <br />"We soon reached the spot and recovered the explosives from near a boundary wall of the mill and defused them", said B B Modi, police inspector, who is investigating into the case.<br />The Gomtipur police on Friday arrested one Manu Savji Vankar on charges of attacking a woman on Thursday. <br />According to the police, Vankar along with another resident of Odhav had attacked one Mehrunisa Rehmanbhai who was standing outside her house at Sutharwada Chapra at around 10.30 pm. She had injuries on her head and right arm. </div> </div>
