Ahmedabad plane crash
All nine Air India crew members and two pilots who lost their lives in Thursday’s air crash were based in Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, including two young women from conflict-ridden Manipur.

An hour before takeoff from Ahmedabad on Thursday, Captain Sumeet Sabharwal had called home and told his family he would ring again once he reached London.

Co-pilot Clive Kunder's family lived in Kalina and later shifted to IC Colony, Borivali. Clive's parents are presently in Australia visiting their daughter who lives there.
Nganthoi Sharma K
20-year-old Meitei girl Nganthoi from Manipur’s Thoubal district was among the cabin crew members killed in the crash. A cousin of the cabin crew member said her last message before take-off was, "I'm going to London. In a few minutes, we'll take off. We may not be able to talk for a while."
Lamnunthiem Singson
Lamnunthiem, 26, from the Kuki-Zo community is an internally-displaced person from Imphal. A year-long ethnic conflict that has left scores dead in Manipur, her family currently stays in Kangpokpi.
Maithili Patil
Airhostess Maithili Patil (22) had been working for just two years at Air India. She had last spoken on phone to her father at 11.30 am from Ahmedabad, to say that she is on her way to London on that AI flight.
Deepak Pathak
Deepak Pathak, a resident of Badlapur, was working in Air India since 11 years and lived with his wife and parents in the Katrap area.
Saineeta Chakravarti
Saineeta was an air hostess with Indigo for many years before joining Air India recently, said a family friend. Her elderly parents learned of the tragedy through neighbours and television news reports.
Roshni Songhare
Roshni Songhare, cabin crew member and social media influencer from Dombivli, was unmarried. She lived with her parents and brother in Rajaji Path.
BJ Medical college
Cabin crew Aparna Mahadik, 42, who lost her life is survived by her husband Amol, who is the nephew of NCP's Raigad MP, Sunil Tatkare. Amol Mahadik is also Air India cabin crew.
Final journey
Shradha Dhavan and Irfan Shaikh were among the crew members on board AI 171, which was set to depart from Ahmedabad airport at 1:10pm but took off at 1:39pm from Runway 23.
