Ahmedabad: Helpline alerted after minor raped by two

Ahmedabad: A 17-year-old girl recently approached Abhayam 181 helpline after constant threats by two youths who allegedly raped her about a year ago.

“The girl completed 17 years a few months ago. According to her statement, she came in contact with a youth living near her society about a year ago and developed friendship. He took her to a hotel with one of his friends and the duo allegedly raped her after inebriating her. They also shot a video,” said a counsellor.

Using the video, the duo was allegedly blackmailing her and threatening to harm her family if she did not comply. They allegedly raped her several times. Tired of the cycle, she told her family about her ordeal after which she approached the helpline.

“Based on the statement of the girl, a case was filed under Pocso against the two and a search for them was initiated,” said the counsellor.
