Agra: Tiffany Trump, daughter of US President Donald Trump, visited the
Taj Mahal on Saturday along with her husband, American businessman Michael Boulos, and a group of friends. The couple arrived at the 17th-century monument around 11 am and spent nearly an hour there under the security cover of UP Police and
CISF personnel.
Police said Tiffany flew into Agra from Delhi on a chartered aircraft, checked into a hotel and then proceeded to the Taj Mahal. After touring the monument and clicking photographs at various locations, she returned to the hotel. The couple is scheduled to stay overnight in Agra before continuing their India trip.
Speaking to
TOI, tourist guide Ramesh Diwan said, “She toured the premises for about 45 minutes and inquired about marble and inlay work. She described the Taj as a remarkable monument with a distinct place in history. Many other tourists were also present and she greeted everyone warmly.”
Tiffany’s visit comes days after that of US secretary of state Marco Rubio, who was on a four-day visit to India during which he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and participated in the meeting of foreign ministers of QUAD member countries, among other engagements.
