Between the saas-bahu dramas and reality shows on the small screen, the television industry is making way for some young talent. These are none other than child artists, some as little as six years old. From portraying historical characters to playing intense roles on TV, these young guns are making a name for themselves and are fast becoming household names. Juggling school schedules and shoots, these small actors are carving a niche for themselves in the world of Television. From topics like child marriage to bonded labourers, they seemed to have mastered the subject with their impeccable acting skills.

Saloni Daini as Sue Heck - Indian television is all set to adapt the international series, 'The Middle', which revolves around the daily mishaps of a married woman and her semi-dysfunctional family. The makers, we hear, have roped in child stand-up comedienne Saloni Daini, also popular as Gangubai, to play the desi Sue Heck. Not only is it a comeback to the tube after a year, but the show will also mark Saloni's debut in fiction. The 12-year-old, who admits to being hooked to the international show, is excited to be a part of the desi adaptation. She says, "My mother wasn't keen on me doing a daily soap as it consumes a lot of time as compared to reality shows; the latter requires only a couple of days a week. But the moment I was offered this show, I convinced her to allow me to take it up. I follow the series religiously and I particularly like Sue Heck's character.
Saloni is leaving no stone unturned to live up to the part. Like her counterpart on the show, she has also got her braces on. "I have to look every bit the part. Sue is bubbly and talkative. It's fun playing her character on the show," she says.

Ruhana Khanna as Gangaa - This is her debut Hindi serial as a lead, before this Ruhana Khanna was involved in modeling activities. Beside modeling, she has been seen in some short films and ‘Saavdhan India’ titled crime show on TV. She is being loved by the viewers for her role. Parsi Khanna, her mother, says, 'Ruhana is at ease with the sari. The whole day she is on the sets, she carries off the sari, and in between shots, when she gets the time, she plays football and even indulges in skipping. Siddharth Nigam as the young Ashoka - Popular television actor Siddharth Nigam is best remembered as the younger Aamir Khan in the 2013 blockbuster film Dhoom 3. He played a double role in the film and acted opposite Jackie Shroff. Siddharth is also a national-level gymnast who started his career with a Bournvita commercial. The adorable kid is currently seen as the young samrat Ashoka in the TV series Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. Prior to that, he played the young Rudra in Maha Kumbh: Ek Rahasaya, Ek Kahani, which marked his TV debut. He is currently one of the most loved child actors on Indian Television and even the show series Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat has been received well by the audience.

Gracy Goswami as Nimboli/Nandini - Baroda resident Gracy was finalised to play Anandi's daughter in the popular show Balika Vadhu on Colors'. The 11 year old who shifted base from Gujarat to Mumbai, is seen as a child bride in Balika Vadhu and post the leap on the show, she is shown to be married to Kundan. Like her mother, Nimboli too is a victim of child marriage. She has to bear the brunt of her in-laws and yet like her mother, she spreads the cheer wherever she goes. Today, Gracy's character is much loved on the show and she is fast becoming popular with her portrayal of Nimboli/Nandini. This marks her debut on Indian TV. According to a report on Indianexpress.com, the child artist was quoted saying that her school teachers taught her the concept of child marriage and that she also manages to study between shoots. She's one to watch out for!

Spandan Chaturvedi as Chakor- Spandan plays the adorable and feisty young girl Chakor on the television show Udaan, which is about bonded labourers in Indian villages. But this is not the first time that she has appeared on TV. Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon marked her debut on the small screen. She also appeared on shows like Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki and Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera. The young lass is also related to another popular child artist: Sparsh Khanchandani who played the young Iccha on the popular show Uttaran.

Shivansh Kotia as Naksh Naitik Singhania - He's the cute kid who rules television screens with commercials and shows. Not to forget, movies too! Shivansh has worked with stars in films like English Vinghlish (he played Sridevi's son), Kick, Krrish 3 and Boss. He's also appeared in multiple commercials on TV and is currently playing Naksh in Star Plus' hit show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. He's also acted in serials like Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha and Balika Vadhu. He's a star in his own way and much in demand and has been around for a while. Shivansh is certainly is popular in his lot.

Ruhanika Dhawan as Ruhi Raman Kumar Bhalla - This cute little 'Rockstar' as she is called by Ekta Kapoor, is ruling Star Plus' famous show Ye Hai Mohabbatein where she plays a girl called Ruhi. Her portrayal as Karan Patel's onscreen daughter has wooed the audience and the child actor has also worked with none other than Salman Khan in Jai Ho. Ruhanika might have taken the nation by storm but the young actress is said to have her own filmy connections. She is related to the Deols and is said to have met Sunny Deol who gave her some acting tips, as per a report on Ibnlive.com. Ruhanika is one of the most popular child artists in the TV industry today!
