NEW DELHI: Studds' D3 Decor finds itself in the middle of the Shifter range of helmets. The entry-level headgear is affordable and ISI certified. Here's a quick review:
The design is a more trendy, rounded-theme compared with some of the sportier rivals like Steelbird SBA-1 series. Available in four colour themes, striking graphics have been thrown around to enhance the overall looks. Studds claims the paint used is UV resistant. Creases on the built and triangular element at the jaw add some muscle.
The full-face helmet is finished in matte texture, with three air inlets. The ventilation in front of the mouth and rear half are non-switchable while the pair of opening on the top come with an optional slipcover. The material used in the cover, however, could have been better. The helmet comes in three different sizes.
The view through the double visor configuration is clear, with the inner visor tinted black. The visor has been offered with a quick-release feature to help in changing in case you want.
The soft-touch liner and lower trim are washable and replaceable. Slightly warm, I, however, would have preferred better clothing as the current fabric used might give tough time during summers.
Mechanically, expanded polystyrene (EPS) is used to build the Shifter series, which provides a satisfactory level of rigidity and toughness for daily use purposes. Quick-release chin strap provides a decent grip and at the same time quick to untie.

is priced at Rs 2,165. Overall, it's a helmet you can rely on for daily usage purposes with a funky appeal.
