June 2026 bank holidays: When and where will banks remain closed? Check state-wise list
Planning a bank visit in June? You might need to check the bank holiday list first!
Customers should plan their bank trips in advance as branches in several states are headed for holidays in the month of June. Since these holidays differ from state to state, it is better to check the holiday list first to avoid a wasted trip.
In addition to festival-related closures, banks across the country also remain shut on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, as per Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines.
15 June: Odisha and Mizoram will observe bank holidays on the occasion of YMA Day and Raja Sankranti.
25 June: Banks in Andhra Pradesh will remain shut due to Moharrum.
26 June: Banks will remain close across multiple states/UTs including Tripura, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh due to Muharram or Ashoora.
29 June: Himachal Pradesh will see bank closures due to Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti.
30 June: Banks will remain closed in Mizoram in observance of Remna Ni.
Despite these holidays, digital banking channels will remain fully operational. Customers can continue to access internet banking, mobile applications, ATMs and UPI platforms for a wide range of services, including money transfers, bill payments and account management.
However, services that require physical presence, such as cheque processing, issuance of demand drafts and large cash transactions, will not be available on non-working days. Customers are being encouraged to rely on digital platforms and plan essential banking tasks in advance to avoid delays.
