Casio India targets Rs 60 cr turnover in 2002-03

NEW DELHI: Casio India Company, a subsidiary of Casio Japan, has targetted a turnover of Rs 60 crore in 2002-03 as against Rs 40 crore in the last fiscal.

NEW DELHI: Casio India Company, a subsidiary of Casio Japan, has targetted a turnover of Rs 60 crore in 2002-03 as against Rs 40 crore in the last fiscal.
"With a wide range of Casio products in the domestic market, including Exilim camera, we are targetting a turnover of Rs 60 crore during the current financial year...India is a great market for consumer electronic goods so we are confident of achieving our target," Casio India Company Managing Director Shigeru Shibata said here on Wednesday.

Shibata was speaking at the launch of digital camera ''EXILIM'' in the Indian market.
"Sale of digital cameras in some countries has exceeded the sales of conventional film cameras and we hope to achieve the same in the Indian market," CICL''s Chief Marketing Manager Kulbhushan Seth said.
He said the company envisages a sales target of over 400 Exilim cameras per month. The products would be imported from the company factories world over, he added.
"We have a current distribution network of 2,000 dealers nationally and plan to expand the base to 2,700 dealers by the year-end. We also have 15 exclusive outlets across the country and will expand to 25 outlets by the end of this year," he added.
