Minda Corporation, an automotive components manufacturer and part of Spark Minda, has inked a technology licensing agreement with China's Sanco Connecting Technology. This strategic partnership aims to enhance Minda Corp's product offerings in the growing electric vehicle segment, particularly in Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS).
New technology and products for EV market
Under this collaboration, Minda Corporation and Sanco will focus on the local development of EV connecting systems. This will include producing components such as charging gun assemblies, bus bars, power distribution units (PDU), battery distribution units (BDU), and more.
This move is set to strengthen Minda Corporation's Wiring Harness Division and reinforce its position as a vital player in India's EV supply chain. Besides that, the collaboration aligns with the company's goal of expanding its footprint in the EV market and increasing its vertical integration capabilities.
Sanco Connecting Technology, based in Guangdong, China, specializes in R&D, design, manufacturing, and sales across several sectors, including new energy vehicles. With four factories and a wide range of manufacturing capabilities, Sanco has built a strong reputation for high-tech, high-quality products and has received several industry accolades. This partnership between Minda Corporation and Sanco Connecting Technology is aimed at enhancing the EV components landscape in India. With an increasing focus on localization and innovation, the collaboration is expected to cater to the evolving needs of the Indian automotive industry, especially in the electric vehicle segment.
