India's longest range electric scooter: Simple Ultra launched with 400 km range!
Bengaluru-based EV startup Simple Energy has launched the much-anticipated Simple Ultra. This EV is said to be India’s longest-range electric scooter with a claimed IDC range of 400 km. It has been priced at Rs 2.35 lakh, ex-showroom. The model is now available for purchase and test rides, with deliveries already underway across the country.
This EV was first unveiled earlier this year as part of the company’s Gen 2 portfolio. Bookings had opened earlier, and customer deliveries began last month. The launch of the Simple Ultra follows the introduction of the Gen 2 versions of the Simple One and Simple OneS earlier this year.
At the heart of the Simple Ultra is a 6.5 kWh battery pack, which enables the headline 400 km IDC range. In terms of performance, the Ultra can reach a top speed of 115 kmph and sprint from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.77 seconds. According to the company, this makes it the second-fastest electric scooter in its lineup, behind the Simple One.
Feature-wise, the scooter comes equipped with four levels of traction control. It also gets a seven-inch digital display that displays key ride information and controls multiple functions. Alongside the product launch, Simple Energy continues to expand its retail footprint. The company currently operates close to 70 touchpoints across cities such as Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi, among others, and plans to add more locations including Nagpur, Ranchi and Bhubaneswar in the coming months.
