Honda two-wheeler sales down 21% in February 2023

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recently reported total sales of 247,175 units in February 2023 as opposed to 3,12,650 units over the corresponding period last year. The company witnessed a YoY decline of 21 percent.

Domestic sales for February 2023 reported 2,27,064 units as opposed to 2,85,706 units in the same month previous year. Exports stood at 20,111 units in Feb 2023 against 26,944 units in February 2022.

Meanwhile, HMSI is planning to launch the Honda CB350 Cafe Racer in the Indian market. The upcoming motorcycle is likely to share the platform with the Honda H’Ness CB350. After the CB350 and CB350RS, this will be the third 350cc model in the manufacturer’s line-up.

The Neo-Retro motorcycle will get dual-channel ABS and front and rear disc brakes, similar to the Honda CB350 and CB350RS. Suspension duties will be handled by telescopic front frocks and dual rear swings. Some of the notable features of the upcoming Honda CB350 Cafe Racer will be full LED-lighting and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

In terms of pricing, we expect the Honda CB350 Cafe Racer to be priced over Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the Jawa 42 across the country.


In other news, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recently unveiled a customization program for the CB350 H’Ness and the CB350 RS motorcycles. Under this program, customers can customize their existing Honda CB350 or the new CB350.
