The S 1000 XR will be available in Blackstorm metallic, gravity blue metallic (with Style Sports) and white solid paint/Motorsport (with M Package). The bike comes with a touring and dynamic package. Standard features include Rider Modes Pro, Heated Grips and Headlight Pro with adaptive turn turning light, cruise control, Keyless Ride, TPMS and a USB charger.

Interested customers can also customize the bike with the optional M package which includes a special colour scheme, M Sport seat, M lightweight battery, M forged wheels, M Endurance chain, M GPS-Laptrigger, sports silencer and a tinted sports windscreen.

The 2024 model features few cosmetic and ergonomics upgrades over the outgoing model. The tourer features new side panels towards the rear and a front fender and it's now painted in its body colour. The motorcycle now sits 10 mm higher than before and features a new seat and BMW says it’s now more accommodating.

The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick-shifter. The bike gets four ride modes- Rain, Road, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro. BMW claims that the bike can sprint from 0-100 kph in 3.25 seconds and has a top speed of over 250 kph. Braking duties are taken care of by a 320 mm twin-disc brake setup up front and a 220 mm single disc setup at the rear.
