Athit Naik's short film gets its big ticket to Cannes

While most child actors aspire to become heroes and heroines, Athit Naik, who played Preity Zinta’s little brother in 'Kal Ho Na Ho' (2003), has opted for a career behind the camera. His short film, 'The Girl In The Woods', has been selected for Cannes Short Film Corner. India-born Athit, who trained in cinematography in Philippines and Los Angeles, has shot music videos for artistes like Jamie Foxx. His short film is about a girl trapped in a forest, held back by her past.
Actor-filmmaker Nileish Malhotra’s comedy Hanki Panki has also made it to the Short Film Corner. The movie revolves around two Scottish women who visit India and enter a baking competition. Apart from being at Cannes, Malhotra is also thrilled to meet up with South superstar Chiranjeevi.
