Abrupt exits from reality shows!

According to a report in Bombay Times, Singer Akriti Kakar, one of the celebrities to compete for a wild-card entry on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, has opted out of the reality show even before her performance has been aired. During the technicals, the singer fell on her back and the pain was so excruciating that she had to leave immediately. It is heard that Akriti's tail bone has shifted inversely. She was injured midnight and she checked into the first hospital on her way back from the shoot. She has been advised three weeks bed rest and won’t be participating in the show. In fact, she is now going to another hospital for a thorough check-up. This came as an abrupt exit from a reality show. Here are some more abrupt exits from the reality shows in the past.

Drashti Dhami out, Manish Paul in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa

It seems like audiences will once again get a chance to witness Manish Paul flirting with the dhak dhak girl Madhuri Dixit Nene on the stage of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as Manish Paul is the probable one to replace Drashti as a host on Jhalak.

Drashti's tweet on making an exit from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has created a wave in the industry and her fans are going crazy tweeting about her exit. However, as per the latest information that we have received, Manish Paul has been considered to replace the beautiful and charming Drashti.Manish Paul has been the host of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa since past two seasons and the channel is considering to bring him back for the current season to host the show along with Ranvir Shorey.

Emergency exits are expected on reality shows, especially those with a longer span of time. Shows like Bigg Boss keeps a contestant inside the house for 2-3 months where they are kept away from their family and friends, have seen maximum number of exits during the show. Isha Sharvani: Isha Sharvani, the strongest contestant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa backed out of the finale at the last minute due to an elbow injury. However it was also rumoured that the actress was all fine after her first injury during the shoot but was probably injured again while partying at her friend’s birthday.

Salil Ankola: Former cricketer and actor, Salil Ankola had to retreat from a reality show as Balaji Telefilms filed a contention saying that his participation in the series was a violation of the contract he had signed with them. The Bigg Boss telecasters took cognizance of the court order and evicted him on grounds of his prior commitments and contractual obligations. Like Salil Akola, there were other contestants like Navjot Singh Sidhu, Kamal Rashid Khan, Jade Goody, Rahul Mahajan and Shamita Shetty.

Ankur-Kanika: It is said that Nach Baliye season 6 was the most jinxed season of the dance reality show as almost six pairs from the show were injured during the show. Kanika fractured her left toe and both knees while rehearsing on Christmas. She was required to do a hand stand, followed by a lift. She was advised bed rest and hence the couple announced their exit from the show.

Vinay Jhamb: One of the three final contestants on The Bachelorette India Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika, Vinay Jhamb walked out of the show due to some personal reasons. It was claimed that his father was ill and Vinay left the show saying that he wouldn’t be able to participate on the show when someone from his family was seriously ill. He chose his family over Mallika.

Sanaya Irani and Mohit Sehgal: Zara Nachke Dikha on Star Plus had opened to a great response. While the boys and girls teams were packed with some great performers, the same cannot be said for the hosts Mohit Sehgal and Sanaya Irani as both were lacking in talent for their hosting skills, which forced the channel and production house to think of replacing them. The beautiful couple was then replaced by the talented Mantra and the beautiful Jennifer Winget.
