NEW DELHI: Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Sunday night expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic death of Madhavrao Scindia describing it as a ''stunning blow'' to the organisation of which he was an ''outstanding, charismatic, vastly popular and widely respected member''.

new delhi: congress working committee (cwc) on sunday night expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic death of madhavrao scindia describing it as a ''stunning blow'' to the organisation of which he was an ''outstanding, charismatic, vastly popular and widely respected member''. in a resolution, a meeting of the cwc presided by sonia gandhi hailed him as an ''exemplary'' deputy leader of the congress parliamentary party and said ''there is an empty place today on our political horizon''. ''in his death, the country has lost a dynamic leader and an inspiring parliamentarian'' it said adding scindia's stewardship of the railway ministry would ''now pass into legend''. the working committee also condoled the death of four journalists -- ranjan jha and gopal bisht of aaj tak, sanjiv sinha of indian express and anju sharma of hindusthan times. through another resolution, the cwc condoled the death of former cwc member and former andhra chief minister k vijayabhaskar reddy whom it described as a ''stalwart''.
