Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

This epic comedy show on SAB TV started in 2008 and is still going strong. The show recently crossed 2000 episodes and became one of the longest running shows on TV. The show has been winning millions of hearts since 8 years now and the viewers just can't get over it. The show revolves around a few families which hail from different regions but live together in the Gokuldham society. Main characters Daya (Disha Wakani) and Jethalal (Dilip Joshi) are very popular for their unique characteristics and are even imitated by their fans for their dialogue delivery.

CID is running since 1998 and it has been almost 18 years now and the show is still one of the favourite crime shows on TV. From the characters to the dialogues, CID has been a cult show. The character's one-liners are known by all. ACP Pradyuman's lines like 'Daya Darwaza Tod Do' and 'Kuch to gadbad hai' are the most popular ones. C.I.D.' is also known for its characters like Daya, Abhijeet, Fredericks, Dr. Salunkhe and Dr. Tarika who have a huge fan following. Its popularity can be gauged from the fact that there are hundreds of C.I.D. jokes popular among the viewers. The show was recently taken off air for a very brief period but had to be brought back on popular demand.

Balika Vadhu

A one of its kind show based on child marriages in Rajasthan, Balika Vadhu, recently went off air after running for 8 years. The show rose to popularity due to its sensitive theme addressed by some wonderful performances put up by actors like Avika Gor and Surekha Sikri. After highlighting the issue of child marriage, the show also touched issues like widow remarriage, second marriage, marriage of a rape victim besides addressing girl education and outdated rituals. 'Balika Vadhu' got off air on July 31, 2016 and the show entered Limca Book of Records as the longest running daily fiction Hindi soap. The show ran over 2000 episodes.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Akshara and Naitik's love story is again a favourite amongst a lot of viewers and the show has been on-air for 7 years now. 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' started in 2009 on Star Plus and is still loved by all. The show broke the record of 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' by being named as the longest running show on Star Plus. The show was in news recently when the lead, Karan Mehra, who played the role of Naitik, quit the show.

Saath Nibhana Saathiya

Star Plus' another popular show 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya' has been running on small-screen for 6 years now. The show started in 2010 and is still up and running with new twists, turns and leaps every now and then. The series revolves around the fictitious Modi family, who live in a mansion in Rajkot. The show explores morals and family values of a typical Gujarati joint family.The storyline took a leap of eight years in February 2014, a further leap of 10 years in March 2015, and a final leap of five years in May 2016.

With season 10 coming soon in October sometime, the show will witness commoners as well.

Roadies

India's first adventure reality show, Roadies started in 2003 and well, it's been 13 years now and the show comes up with a new season every year. Judged by Raghu and Rajiv Laxman, the two became youth icons. The first season was won by Rannvijay Singh, who later became a part of each season of the show. Raghu and Rajiv left Roadies in 2014 after which Rannvijay Singh, Karan Kundra took over. The last season had Rannvijay, Karan Kundra, Neha Dhupia and Prince Narula as the mentors.
